News
Welcome!
Luckless is a version of Pokémon Showdown with as much chance removed from the mechanics as possible. In general, this is accomplished in three ways:
- Status conditions and stat changes function on a severity system
- Accuracy and evasion affect move power and severity
- Critical hits have their own severity system of discrete stages
The full list of changes can be found here. Changes highlighted in green are new to the most recent update. I'd say good luck, but...well, you know.

1.3.1 Update
- Migrated client hosting to the same location as the server
- Updated to https
- Changed URL to simply "luckless.imlgames.com"
- Assist, Metronome, and Sleep Talk now correctly display as Special moves
- "Binary" flag now appears in move tooltips
Some assets may not load correctly or there may be other bugs if I missed a location where client and server need to be connected. If you notice something not working, let me know.

To Do
Luckless is in beta and currently supports Gen 7 Singles mechanics. The following are planned additions for the future:
- Support for additional generations
- Support for Double Battles
- Total and ellapsed duration of status conditions in tooltips
- Severity mechanics for slot, side, and field conditions (currently they always have maximum severity)
- Winrate-based levels for random formats
